Items of the Week!

I haven't updated in quite some time! I meant to post an "item-of-the-week" kind of blog, but I wrote it last week and didn't get around to putting it up. So, I'm just going to do a few items that I've been really into the past week to make up for it!

MAC eyeshadow in "Woodwinked"

I typically wear this eyeshadow in the fall because of it's rusty color, but I've been wearing it alot lately. It's a bronze-brown shimmery color, and I adore it. If you're fair-skinned like I am, you have to be careful how much you use, because a little bit goes a LONG way with this color. I love to wear it on my lid, with the color "Mulch" in my crease. It's absolutely gorgeous!

NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in "Natural (122)"

I was actually looking all over my house for this lipgloss just the other day because I lost it! I was so upset that it was missing, until I found it in one of my purses laying around. This is the perfect "my lips but better" lip gloss. And I love the taste, too! It tastes like candy. I also love the fact that NYX products are not tested on animals (like Tarte, which I've mentioned a few posts ago), which is a huge plus for me.

MAC blush in "Well-Dressed"

I love this blush! I purchased it for the first time a few weeks ago and I've been wearing it every day since. It's the perfect babydoll pink, and it's super sheer. So depending on your mood you can make it as bright or as soft as you want. It's perfect for spring and summer. It's pretty matte- it doesn't have any sparkles or shimmer in it, which I love. I don't like blushes that seem like a fairy danced on my face. I have a hard time wearing bright blushes because my skin tone is so pink, and I have some scarring, but this blush doesn't seem to enhance any of that, which is awesome. I highly recommend it for any pale skin beauties out there!

I also wanted to mention that this blog will not only be about "high-end" things like makeup and clothes and whatnot. I also wanted to state that I am in no way a "rich" girl. I pay for everything myself and I just happen to like some high-end products. If you really think about it and compare prices, MAC is really not that much more expensive than most drugstore makeup. I think MAC is one of the cheapest high-end brands you can find, especially when you do your research. Like for instance, when you buy a MAC eyeshadow in a pot, it's almost 15 bucks. But, if you buy a 4-shadow empty palette (which is 3 dollars at MAC stores) and buy the eyeshadow in PAN form (a refill), you will save money in the end. Pan shadows are only 11 dollars, and you can fill the palette up with three other eyeshadows. So, say if you buy four MAC eyeshadows in pot form, that's 58 dollars. Now, say if you buy the palette and the four eyeshadows, that's 47 dollars. Almost TEN dollars you save! Not to mention it's easier to travel with. And all MAC shadows are magnetic, even if you depot them, so you can change up that single palette whenever you feel like it. So in the end, if you shop the smart way, they're not as expensive as you think. And blushes and face powders come in pan form as well. I've been to the local CVS and Ulta, and some eyeshadows are almost the same amount as MAC pan shadows (Loreal HIP?), yet everyone still wants to think that MAC is for "people with money" and it's really not. I've seen Neutrogena foundations be almost 15 dollars (MAC foundations are usually around 20-25 depending on the product). I DO use drugstore products. I use drugstore mascara and lip products most of the time. I just wanted to give a heads-up to people who think that MAC is way too expensive, but go out an buy L'Oreal HIP eyeshadows or Revlon lipstick at the same time. You CAN buy MAC, people!

Hope you all enjoy! :)

Also, I'm just going to add pictures and prices of MAC palettes down below in case anyone is curious!

MAC eyeshadow palette (4 pans)- $3.50

MAC eyeshadow palettte (15 pans)- $12 (available at PRO stores or online only)

EDIT: Apparently MAC has raised the price on their palettes, the quads now $5 and the 15-pans are $15. Sucks, but it still saves you money if you choose to buy MAC!
